    Dr. Megan Barnes, D.C. grew up in Houghton Lake where she graduated from high school in the top of her class in 2005. She went on to graduate Magna Cum Laude with her associates degree from Kirtland Community College. Following completion of her degree, she moved to Detroit, MI to attend Wayne State University. During her time in Detroit she developed a strong passion and love for wanting to help others. She volunteered many hours assisting doctors at St. Frances Cabrini Clinic, the oldest free clinic in the nation. She also spent time cooking and delivering food to the homeless. In 2010, she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Life Science. With a desire to further her education she enrolled in the doctorate program at Palmer College of Chiropractic, known as the fountain head of chiropractic. During her education there she was selected by her professors to assist in teaching within the gender, pediatric and physical diagnosis labs. She was also honored to be chosen to participate in Palmer’s clinic abroad program. She traveled to New Delhi and Hyderabad, India to provide humanitarian chiropractic care to those in need, serving hundreds of patients. She also volunteered her time in the community outreach and rehabilitation centers in Davenport, Iowa. In February, 2014, she graduated Cum Laude with her Doctor of Chiropractic degree and is board certified by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners. After attaining her degree she returned to Traverse City, Michigan, where she practiced for a year.

    She came back to the Houghton Lake area and joined Life Chiropractic in 2015.
